החילוק בין עבודת הבירורים בכלל ועבודת הנסיונות בפרט: בנוגע לעבודת הבירורים צריכים "לחפש" בירורים כדי לבררם וכו', משא"כ בנוגע לנסיונות הרי מתפללים בכל יום "אל תביאני . . לידי נסיון", וכדי לעמוד בנסיון צריך תוקף גדול יותר, אבל כאשר עומדים בנסיון – ה"ה מתבטל לגמרי ולא נשאר ממנו שום רושם כלל. ולכן כאשר בא לאדם ענין שמונע ממנו לקיים הלכה ברורה בשו"ע – עליו לדעת שאי"ז מציאות אמיתית אלא נסיון בלבד, ולמרות שכדי לעמוד בנסיון צריך תוקף גדול – הרי ודאי שיש לו את הכח לזה, ואז יראה שמלכתחילה לא היתה זו מציאות אמיתית כלל!

The distinction between the service of birurim [elevation of the spiritual spark within physical matter] in general, and the service of being tested in particular: one is supposed to strive for birurim etc., but regarding tests we daven every day “do not bring me...to a test.” To withstand the test requires extraordinary strength, but when one does so, the challenge is completely nullified and no impression of it remains at all. Therefore, when a person encounters something that prevents him from fulfilling a clear law in the Shulchan Aruch, he must know that it is not a true reality, but only a test; through it requires great strength to withstand it – he surely has the capability to do so, and then he will see that it never really existed at all!
