Supernatural Season 4 Wrap-Up | Special Features & Our Favorite Episodes

Season 4 Episode 23 Published 3 years ago
Description

Supernatural Season 4 wrap-up 💝 Berly and LA dig into the season four special feature, The Mythologies of Supernatural, share their favorite episodes, make their season five predictions, and raise a glass to the recurring characters we lost along the way, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

First, thank you to Trinity Esparza for the five-star Apple Podcasts review! Then it's on to the special feature, a History Channel-style documentary about the religious and folkloric roots behind the show's angels, demons, heaven, and hell, with gorgeous artwork throughout. We learn that the idea of purgatory came from the church, not scripture, that Anna's story was partly inspired by Lucifer's, and a whole lot about what the angels' garrison really means.

Episode Highlights:

  • The Mythologies of Supernatural special feature (so documentary, so pretty)
  • Why Anna's fall mirrors Lucifer's
  • The gag reel: Jared's Blue Steel is STILL going strong
  • Pamela's blooper, running blind straight into a door
  • The striped shirt with the white collar from It's a Terrible Life? It's literally called a Winchester shirt
  • What we missed: Sam's pupils going black in On the Head of a Pin
  • Our burning, unanswered questions (how long did it take Ruby to get Sam on the blood?)
  • Our season five predictions (and a little birdie says the Trickster is coming back. Twice.)
  • Our toast to the fallen: Uriel (Robert Wisdom), Pamela (Traci Dinwiddie), Alastair (Mark Rolston, Andrew Wheeler, and Christopher Heyerdahl), Lilith (Rachel Pattee, Sierra McCormick, Katie Cassidy, and Katherine Boecher), …and Ruby (Katie Cassidy, Anna Williams, Michelle Hewitt-Williams, and Genevieve Padalecki)

Our season four favorites: LA's picks are Monster Movie (black and white, kitschy, and Todd Stashwick camping it up) and The Monster at the End of This Book (hello, Chuck!). Berly's picks are Lazarus Rising (Kim Manners' direction, Dean's resurrection) and the double whammy of When the Levee Breaks (Robert Singer's direction) and Lucifer Rising (what a finale!).

Your turn, hunters: What's YOUR favorite season four episode? And what are your predictions for season five? Tell us in the Spotify comments, leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts (it's how new hunters find us), or send us fan mail. Season five starts next week!
