Lessons In Business #5: Nothing emotional should be in writing, don’t go to court and the difference between a good and excellent job is often 5mins.
Description
Crowie is sharing the key lessons he learnt in business throughout his years as the owner of an electrical company, and in the years of helping others make their sparky business succeed.
It’s a little bit of this and little bit of that and a whole lot of…
- Things in writing last forever, be careful what you put in text or email, there’s no tone or texture, it lets the reader determine and assume context.
- You lose the human in in the written word.
- You need to see both sides to come to a fair and reasonable solution.
- Don’t go to court, it’s murky and dangerous territory. Only lawyers benefit.
- Excellence often come only from the 5 minutes after the job, the final sweep, wiping the downlight, patting the dog.
Don’t be good, don’t be great, be excellent, the difference is often miniscule.
Crowie uses the word journey a lot this week but we’ll let that go and learn from all the things he’s dealt with on his “path” to business success.
