Why new CDC director Dr. Mandy Cohen thinks public health is a national security issue

Published 2 years, 4 months ago
Description

Dr. Mandy Cohen offered a blunt assessment of public health in the United States: "Frankly, I don't think we have a system at all in this country." Sworn in as Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this summer, Cohen is now tasked with making things better. She gets that most people have vaccine fatigue, and that access to healthcare is inadequate for certain segments of the population. Still, Cohen has hope that with the right resources, the U.S. can start addressing public health as if it were a national security issue. Check out her exclusive conversation with KYW Newsradio's Matt Leon.
