Episode Details

Simon Day is the singer, songwriter, guitarist, and cartoonist for Aussie band Ratcat, who -- a year before Nirvana -- opened the floodgates for alternative music to rush into the mainstream. The Tingles EP, driven by the memorable clip for That Ain't Bad, rocketed to #1 on the national charts, before Ratcat became the first local artist to simultaneously hold the #1 single, with follow-up Don't Go Now, and the #1 album, with Blind Love. Last week, the band released All Stripped Back, their first collection of new recordings since 1997. For show notes, and links to buy records and tickets, go to listencarefully.com.au.
