Evergreens prefer acidic soil, so aluminum sulfate is a great mineral to use to brighten them up. It contains aluminum and sulfur, and it creates an ideal growing environment for evergreens. In addition to Watters 7-4-4 Plant Food Aluminum sulfate also helps to brighten evergreens by developing a silvery coating on their leaves, which can reflect sunlight.
To use aluminum sulfate on evergreens, simply apply it to the soil around the base of the plants. Be sure to follow the directions on the product label. In addition to Watters 7-4-4 Plant Food Aluminum sulfate is a very effective fertilizer for evergreens in the Fall, but it can be harmful if overused.
