Engaging in creative activities and exploring hobbies that inspire us can lead to an improved sense of well being  and happiness that may have long lasting effects on our lives. Many of us are feeling busier and more stressed than ever and the thought of adding an extra activity to our daily lives may not seem possible and yet spending regular time on a hobby or leisure activity can help you feel better adding satisfaction and fulfillment to your life.

Setting aside a little time every day or even weekly to do something you enjoy restores your sense of well‑being and is considered to be an important way to take care of your health.  On this week’s show Lisa and Michael will be sharing their insights on  how to make a positive impact on your own life by exploring activities, or hobbies that bring you a sense of inner peace and accomplishment. We will be discussing the recently published study in the journal of Nature Medicine that found a profound connection between hobby engagement and fewer depressive symptoms, improved self-reported health, increased happiness and life satisfaction. We will be sharing why enjoying a regular spare time activity can leave you feeling calm, refreshed and invigorated.  Discover why doing something you find meaningful and enjoyable actually reduces stress levels, improves mental health, and provides important opportunities for social connection, friendship and support. Whether you exercise, cook, read books, do something creative, or more individualized, what really matters is that setting aside the time to pause from worry and responsibility to do things that bring you inner satisfaction you will find yourself feeling immensely happier in your life. Your body and mind will thank you!
