Are you ready to untangle the complexities and controversies surrounding critical race theory (CRT) in public schools? Brace yourself for a deep-dive into the core of this significant educational debate that's currently gripping our nation. This episode unveils the intricacies of the ongoing CRT debate and its impact on the teaching of history, with a special focus on the pilot AP African American Studies course. I'll scrutinize Florida's controversial ban of the course, explore potential legal battles, and delve into the 18 states that have enacted laws restricting lessons on race and racism.

Additionally, I will connect the dots between political squabbles and core educational values. Infusing groundbreaking results from a recent American Federation of Teachers' poll into my discussion,  I'll demonstrate how most voters and parents are more concerned about the core mission of schools than the so-called 'woke agenda'. I also take you to California, where a bold alliance of teachers, students, parents, and teachers' unions are challenging the establishment by suing the school district and the school board for banning CRT. Fasten your seat belts for this enlightening journey through the landscape of contemporary K-12 education.
