[המשך] וההוראה: ישנם הטועים לומר ששויון הנשים לגברים בעבודה וכד' היא טובתן. מספרת התורה שההיפך הוא הנכון: ה' העניק לנשים דבר שהוא נעלה יותר מהעלי' לרגל "לראות את פני הוי' אלקיך" – להיות "עקרת הבית". האשה היא זו שנשארת בבית ודואגת שיהי' מיוסד על יסודי התומ"צ, ובפרט – בנוגע לחינוך הילדים. וכמדובר כמ"פ שהיסוד של עם ישראל הוא "למשפחותיהם" – שתא המשפחה בנוי כפי רצונו ית' – שהבעל עושה תפקידו והאשה תפקידה, ותפקיד האשה אינו פחות חשוב – ואולי אפי' חשוב יותר – מתפקיד הבעל! ורואים ר"ל את הקרע בין בני-הבית שנגרם כתוצאה מטעות הנ"ל. כואב לראות אנשים שכל ענינם הוא לנתק הנשים מתפקידן העיקרי ולמנותן כ"גבאי" בביהכנ"ס, לצרפן למנין וכו' – זה לא רק היפך ההלכה, אלא גם פוגע בקיום עם ישראל! והעיקר הוא הצד הטוב – נשי ובנות ישראל צריכות לדעת שעיקר שליחותן ושלימותן האמיתית היא להיות "עקרת הבית", ועי"ז באים אח"כ עם הילדים לשילה ואומרים "אל הנער הזה התפללתי"!

[Continued.] The lesson is: some people mistakenly think that women having equal employment to men is good for them. The Torah tells us that the opposite is true: Hashem gave women something even greater that making the festival pilgrimage “to appear before Hashem your G-d” – and that is to be the “mainstay of the home.” It is the woman who remains at home and ensures that the home rests on the foundation of Torah and mitzvos, and especially, the one who sees to it that the children are educated properly. And as discussed many times, the foundation of the Jewish people is “to their families” – that the family should be built according to Hashem’s will – that the husband should fulfill his role and the wife should fulfill her role. And the woman’s role is no less important – and perhaps more important – than that of the husband. And we see Rachmana litzlan the rift within the family that has resulted from the abovementioned mistake. It is painful to see women whose sole aim is to tear away women from their primary role so they can be appoint as a “gabbai” or be counted in a minyan etc. – this not only goes against halacha, but also affects the existence of the Jewish people! And the main thing is, on the positive side – Jewish women and girls must know that their primary mission and true fulfillment is to be the mainstay of the home, and as a result, they are then able to bring their children to Shiloh and say “for this youth I prayed”.
