1) הוראה חשובה משם פ' האזינו, שפירושו לשמוע ולהקשיב: לא להסתמך על השכל, אלא לפני כל פעולה יש לבדוק מה נאמר ע"ז בתורה, בשו"ע, ו"להקשיב" לתורה, או, אם אינו מבינָהּ בעצמו, להקשיב לרב שיסביר לו מה כתוב בתורה ע"ז! ונוסף לזה, צ"ל כבהמשך הכתובים "שאל אביך ויגדך זקנך ויאמרו לך" ולהקשיב ולקיים את הוראתם, מכיון שהם כבר חיו במשך כו"כ שנים ונשארו שלימים ביהדותם למרות הנסיונות הקשים וכו'. 2) הוראה ממ"ש בשלישי דפ' האזינו "ירכיבהו על במתי ארץ": הקב"ה קבע שמילוי שליחותם של בנ"י הוא ב"ארץ" דוקא‏ – ‏לעשות לו ית' דירה בתחתונים, אבל ביחד עם זה העמידם "על במתי ארץ"‏ – ‏מקום גבוה שמשם רואים את כל הסביבה ובנקל יותר לתת הוראות משם לכל סביבה וכו', ובאופן של "ירכיבהו על וגו'"‏ – ‏ע"ד רוכב במרכבה שהוא המנהיג ושולט על המרכבה, וישיבתו באופן כזה נותנת לו כבוד וחשיבות ובמילא מתקיימות הוראותיו מיד.

(1) An important lesson from the name of Parashas Haazinu, which means “listen:” one should not rely on her own intellect, rather, before doing anything, she should check to see what the Shulchan Aruch says, about it, and then “listen” to the Torah, or, if she needs help understanding it, she should ask a Rav, and listen to him. In addition, the verse sates, “Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders and they will inform you” – one should listen to what they say because they have life experience, and have maintained their Yiddishkeit despite the challenges etc. (2) A lesson from the verse in the third aliya of Parashas Haazinu, “He made them ride upon the high places of the earth”: Hashem put the Jewish people specifically “in the earth” – to make a dwelling for Him in this world, but at the same time, He put them “upon the high places of the earth” – a high place from which one can see the entire surrounding, making it easier to give instructions for the entire surrounding etc., and in such a way that “they will ride etc.” – like one riding a wagon, who controls and drives it, and by sitting in this fashion he gains respect and importance, so that his instructions are immediately carried out.
