THE PRAYER OF JESUS AT HIS BAPTISM IS NOT RECORDED IN THE GOSPELS BUT FROM THE ANSWER THAT CAME IMMEDIATELY IT IS EVIDENT THAT HE WAS PRAYING FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT. DIVINE MISSION WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT BECOMES MECHANICAL AND HAZARDOUS ‼️ Luke 3:21-22 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. WE TODAY WHO HAVE A MISSION TO WARN THE ENTIRE WORLD OF ITS IMPENDING DOOM ARE TO PLEAD FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD IS MORE THAN READY TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS LUKE 11:9-13 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him. John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Since this (The Holy Spirit) is the means by which we are to receive power, why do we not hunger and thirst for the gift of the Spirit? Why do we not talk of it, pray for it, and preach concerning it? The Lord is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who serve Him than parents are to give good gifts to their children. For the daily baptism of the Spirit every worker should offer his petition to God. Companies of Christian workers should gather to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that they may know how to plan and execute wisely. Especially should they pray that God will baptize His chosen ambassadors in mission fields with a rich measure of His Spirit. The presence of the Spirit with God’s workers will give the proclamation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the world could give. – {Acts of the Apostles p. 50.2} OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM AS CHRISTIANS, IS NOT ❌ A LACK OF MONEY OR STRATEGIES‼️ IT IS THE ABSENCE OF SPIRITUAL POWER. 2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. JESUS VALUED SPIRITUAL POWER MORE THAN THE TEMPORARY! SO HE PRAYED FOR THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD ANSWERED HIM. WE TOO ARE TO VALUE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT MORE THAN OUR DAILY BREAD 🍞 Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭NKJV‬ “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”‬ Luke 9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
