THE MORNING DAWN FOUND JESUS PRAYING IN SOLITUDE Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.” Psalm 119:146-149 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies. 147I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word. 148Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word. ‭‭‬In the morning the Christian’s first thoughts should be upon God. Worldly labor and self-interest should be secondary.... We should pray in the family circle, and above all we must not neglect secret prayer, for this is the life of the soul. It is impossible for the soul to flourish while prayer is neglected. Family or public prayer alone is not sufficient. In solitude let the soul be laid open to the inspecting eye of God. Secret prayer is to be heard only by the prayer-hearing God.
