Description

WHEN JESUS WAS TAKING THE BITTER CUP HE DIDN’T FOCUS ON ITS BITTERNESS BUT ON THE JOY TO FOLLOW WHEN WE ARE DRINKING LIFE’S BITTER CUP ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL WE SHOULD LOOK BEYOND IT TO THE ETERNAL JOY AHEAD. THERE A CERTAIN THINGS IN LIFE WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND NOW BUT THAT WILL BE MADE PLAIN IN THE BY AND BY

John‬ ‭13‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.”

‭‭ All the perplexities of life’s experience will then be made plain. Where to us have appeared only confusion and disappointment, broken purposes and thwarted plans, will be seen a grand, overruling, victorious purpose, a divine harmony. – {Education p. 305.3}

Hebrews 12:2-3

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬

“Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭RSV‬‬

“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear. Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered;”

Isaiah 53:3-5

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4¶Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:11

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

JESUS LOOKED BEYOND THE CROSS TO THE REDEEMED

Revelation 7:9-10

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Revelation 5:9-10

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

ENDLESS JOY IS COMING TO ALL WHO ACCEPT GOD’S WILL

John‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.”

Isaiah 35:10

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and
