תורת הבעש"ט עה"פ בראשון דפ' כי תבוא "והי' כי תבוא אל הארץ אשר אני נותן לך וגו'": כשנותנים מלמעלה בחי' רצון ומרוצה לעשות רצון קונו ("ארץ"), צ"ל מצד האדם "וישבת בה"‏ – ‏שענין זה יבוא בבחי' התיישבות בכלים, וזהו "ושמת בטנא"‏ – ‏המשכת האורות בכלים. "והלכת אל המקום גו' לשכן שמו שם": כשיהודי בא למקום מסויים ה"ז כדי לפרסם שם אלקות. וביאור הקשר בין תורה זו למ"ש אדה"ז עה"פ ש"ארץ" קאי על: א) תושבע"פ: בתושבע"פ, ובפרט בחלק ההלכה, קיימת רצון ה' בגלוי‏ – ‏בה מתבאר כיצד לקיים רצונו ית' במעשה בפועל, וע"י קיום המצוות בפועל נפעל הענין ד"ושמת בטנא", התיישבות אורות בכלים. ב) ראש השנה (זמן): ענינו של ר"ה הוא "תמליכוני עליכם", שבנ"י מקבלים ע"ע הרצון ומרוצה של ממה"מ הקב"ה, וע"י נעשה המשכת המלוכה למטה על כל העולם‏ – ‏התיישבות אורות בכלים, דירה בתחתונים "לשכן שמו שם".

The beginning of Parashas Ki Savo states, “And it will be, when you come into the land which Hashem, your God, gives you…to inherit it etc.;” the Midrash states that eretz (“land”) is related to the words ratzon (desire) and merutzah (running). The Baal Shem Tov explains that when a person is given the ratzon and merutzah to do Hashem’s will (the “land”), he must “settle in it,” making sure to “place it into the basket” – lights contained in vessels. “And you shall go to the place which Hashem your G-d will choose to have His Name dwell there:” When a Jew comes to a particular place, it is in order to spread G-dliness there. And this is connected to the Alter Rebbe’s explanation that “eretz” refers to: (a) The Oral Torah, specifically halacha, where Hashem’s desire is manifest by showing us how to actually perform the mitzvos, thus “puing it into the basket,” lights contained in vessel. (b) Rosh Hashanah (in the realm of Shanah): Rosh Hashanah is when the Jewish people “crown Me as King over you,” accepting the ratzon and merutzeh of Hashem upon themselves, and this brings His kingship down below into the world – i.e., lights contained in vessels, a dwelling in this lowest world – “to have His Name dwell there.”
