#427 - $1 Billion Seized in Money Laundering Crackdown & Leong Mun Wai Complains to Speaker of Parliament

Episode 432 Published 2 years, 7 months ago
Description

This week, the Singapore Police Force arrested a group of foreigners who had amassed approximately S$1 billion worth of assets in the country, as part of one of the largest anti-money laundering operations ever. The arrests took place across multiple affluent neighbourhoods in Singapore, and the catalogue of the items seized was jaw-dropping. Why did we feel a little worried by this turn of events? In other news, Leong Mun Wai has filed a formal complaint against Murali Pillai to the Speaker of Parliament over their exchange at the last parliamentary session. Is his complaint justified, or is it petty politics?
