Paying it forward and showing gratitude through action is what I do on the daily. I spent 10 years serving my country and 20 in corp America.
Growing up and in my spare time I was a true X games enthusiast, surfed, raced motocross, climbed and loved flying in helicopters, thanks to the Air Force.
During my career I was called a sharp minded strategist, creator of innovative solutions, a disruptive marketing pioneer and never missed a revenue commitment or a project deadline. As a leader I had a high standard of excellence, showed dedication and loyalty to my team and always led by example.
Retirement has been fun. Spent 10 years in Costa Rica, running my surf and yoga camps, surfing, meditating and doing yoga daily, was my dream.
Then 2018 had a tragic accident, I suffered a severe spinal cord injury and some bleeding in my brain. They fused a good portion of my C and T spine, the brain injury was TBD. Being an extreme athlete was over, no more surfing, racing around on my favorite dirt bike or riding anything that would go over 100mph. My new purpose became youth ministry and with previous experience everything fell in line.
Sundays renewed my spirituality, ministering to the kids and developing the curriculum.
Found the motivation to go back to school to get my ministry degree.
I spent countless hours at the VA in therapy.
Besides physical therapy I attended many support groups for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. For my own gratification I focused on available alternative treatments and by the grace of God I found proven psychedelic therapies. Out went the SSRI's and micro dosing began. I felt 100% better and I followed the clinical trials. I was amazed and gravitated my education and passion to be of service to my fellow veterans.
