Description

This week on The Second of Strength Podcast we're talking social media and one of the - less talked about- risks: Instant Gratification. This week's episode will teach you the power of delayed gratification

Social media plays a huge role in the lives of teenagers and nearly everyone else.

By the numbers (Pew Research):

  • 95% of teens use YouTube or social media daily
  • 54% of teens say it would be hard to give up
  • 19% of teens say they use YouTube almost constantly
  • 16% us TikTok almost constantly

Why? Social media is addictive because it targets the addiction parts of our brain.

So what? The world is at your finger tips. The speed of social media, the internet, is creating a lack of patience. We want everything "now". Unfortunately, happiness, growth, and satisfaction TAKE time.

The risk is that if teenagers or ourselves are constantly trading lasting satisfaction for instant gratification. This episode is designed to help you and your teenagers delay gratification to strengthen the future.
