#422 - Washington Post Accuses Lianhe Zaobao of Pro-China Slant & CCTVs Now Allowed For HDB Corridors

Episode 427 Published 2 years, 8 months ago
Description

Recently, American publication Washington Post accused Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao of deferring to “Beijing narratives”. This prompted a rebuke from the Chinese newspaper, and now Singapore’s ambassador to the US has also spoken out against it. Is our local newspaper really taking sides in the US-China divide? Elsewhere, HDB’s approval will no longer be required for CCTVs that face corridors of HDB flats. Why the change, and does it mean we will become a surveillance state?
