In this episode, we hear the story of how the tide turned in favor of the coalition, and how the win in Astoria has impacted climate organizing across the state.
How We Stopped It is a three-part audio documentary that tells the story of how a small group of people came together to prevent an $8 billion corporation from building a fracked-gas peaker plant in Astoria, Queens. It is an all-too-uncommon story of victory in the fight against air pollution and climate change told from the perspectives of the people on the front lines of that fight.
