Human trafficking is probably one of the most well known, and least acknowledged problems that plagues society today. It exists globally and is an industry that generates revenue beyond what most markets can achieve in their greatest of years. To bring awareness and education to this cause, I sit down with Kara Smith, a consultant and Air Force veteran to talk about this. As someone who has spent time working with multiple government agencies, supported law enforcement in their efforts to combat trafficking and increase training, Kara has a wealth of knowledge to help inform us. During this week's discussion we get into different types of trafficking, their impacts and causes, as well as what some agencies in the U.S. are doing to collaborate and combat the issue, and how we all can contribute as prepared civilians, to prevent this heinous activity.
