Episode Details

Supernatural Season 4, Episode 9, I Know What You Did Last Summer recap ☀️ A redhead in a psych ward can hear angels, the boys finally learn what Sam and Ruby were up to while Dean was in hell, and a very powerful demon comes calling on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. (Yes, the title is a nod to the 1997 horror movie. No, Jennifer Love Hewitt does not appear.)

Anna Milton (Julie McNiven) is locked up in a psychiatric hospital, telling her doctor all about the 66 seals, Lilith, and the coming apocalypse. Spoiler: she's not crazy, she's tuned into angel radio. And the first thing she ever heard? Dean Winchester is saved. With demons on her trail, the boys and Ruby (Genevieve Padalecki) race to protect her, while flashbacks finally reveal what Sam was doing during Dean's four months in hell. (Short version: Dean was tortured, and Sam got laid.)

Episode Highlights:

• Our drink of the episode: a Misha Collins (two shots of Tito's with sugar-free lemonade Vitamin Water)
• Anna's very talented drawings, and the very bad things that happen to the orderly
• Sam's flashback to life without Dean, and meeting the new Ruby
• Ruby's new body: a comatose girl, 100% socially conscious (And is Ruby secretly Meg? Berly has a theory.)
• Ruby in a maid outfit (short but memorable)
• Sam stitching himself up
• Alastair (Mark Rolston) and his creepy white eyes, all business
• The knife not doing a damn thing
• Dean's piss-poor attempt at an apology to Ruby
• Who comes for Anna at the end. Things could be worse.

In the lore segment, we dig into the seven ways angels supposedly speak to you every day, according to Psych Central, from dreams and voices in your head to feathers, flashes of light, and human and animal helpers. (Mr. Rogers was definitely an angel.)

"This body is 100% socially conscious. I recycle. Al Gore would be proud." – Ruby
