How Changes to 529 Plans Could Fund Your Retirement | Queer Money Ep. 422

Season 1 Episode 422 Published 2 years, 7 months ago
Description

How does the new law change affect excess 529 plan funds? In December 2022, SECURE Act 2.0 was signed into law to enhance retirement savings opportunities for Americans.

One of the changes will have a big impact on 529 plans and what can be done with the investments in the plan.

The change will allow 529 plan funds to be moved directly into the plan beneficiary's Roth IRA.

So, what are 529 plans and how can they be used?

On this week's show, we invite Paul Curley of The 529 Plan Conference to share with us the changes and how these may benefit LGBTQ youth and those thinking about retirement.
