This encouragement belongs only to a select group of people. For whom is this encouragement intended? The only ones who can claim this comfort are believers. This providence isn’t generic. It's not for everyone. There is a restriction. There is an exclusiveness around this. One might even say it’s discriminatory. Paul is not talking about some universal principle. For whom He foreknew those he predestined. See, this is the foreknowledge of relationship. And because God loved you, He predestined you. That is, He chose you. He chose you, and He set out a purpose for your life before time ever began, and that purpose is invincible. It can never be broken.
