Episode Details

Supernatural Season 3, Episode 15, Time Is on My Side recap ⌛ A 19th-century doctor (Billy Drago) who made himself immortal is stealing organs to keep himself going, Dean is hunting Bela for the Colt, and we meet hunter Rufus Turner (Steven Williams) for the first time on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. (Yes, the title comes from the Rolling Stones.)

First up: Berly has a theory about Ruby, and it's a doozy. Then it's on to the episode, where people are waking up in the woods missing organs, and the boys split up. Sam goes after Doc Benton, a doctor who found the secret to eternal life back in 1816 and has been stitching himself back together ever since (very Frankenstein). Dean, meanwhile, tracks down Bela with help from Bobby's old friend Rufus, who is NOT happy to see a Winchester on his doorstep. Bela's past is about to catch up with her.

Episode Highlights:

• Berly's Ruby theory (is she using the boys to kill demons she hates?)
• Doc Benton's DIY surgeries in the woods
• Rufus's very first appearance, and the only time we see him smile (loves that Johnnie Walker Blue)
• Bela burning her past, literally
• Sam's surprisingly dark turn, willing to do anything to save Dean
• Sam's hair (it deserves its own bullet)
• A Weird Science shout-out
• What's really waiting for Bela

In the lore segment, we ask whether organ transplants could help us live forever, from clone dystopias like Never Let Me Go and The Island to real science: whether a donor's age affects the recipient's aging, heterochronic parabiosis (connecting the circulatory systems of old and young animals), the science behind young blood, and the eerie stories of recipients who seem to inherit their donors' tastes.

"I'll see you in hell." – Dean Winchester, to Bela

Your turn, hunters: Is Berly right about Ruby? And how do you feel about Bela now? Tell us in the Spotify comments, leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts (it's how new hunters find us), or send us fan mail. Bonus points for fandom fun facts we missed.
