I’m not sure about you — but I try to impart “life lessons” on the kids each time they leave the house —

 I say things like:

drink a lot of water

wear sunscreen

take a sweater

don’t do drugs

stay away from creepy people

and…

don’t join a cult!

 In this newest episode of the Slow Living Podcast I share how I had an early fascination with cults starting with the Waco, Texas compound of Branch Davidians led by David Koresh.

 I remember watching Live TV (remember live tv??) — and seeing the federal agents surround the compound and then the fire set intentionally by the people inside and just felt flabbergasted —

 how could such a thing happen?

 how could people choose on purpose to follow a leader to their demise?

Stephanie's Story

I know what it feels like to want to live a calm, peaceful, and harmonious life but you feel like you can’t because there is simply too much to do. I believe that if we are lucky, life is long. You are not behind, and you don’t need to rush around, trying to catch up. My philosophy isn’t ab
