Sometimes we don’t know how and what to pray for but in our weakness Paul explains in Romans 8:26 that it is the Spirit that helps us, “For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.” 
In v27 it tells us that the one who searches our hearts also knows the mind of the Spirit because he is interceding for us. What a great comfort this is for a believer in Christ.
