Robert Morgan: Surviving Hollywood One Role at a Time

Season 1 Episode 4 Published 3 years ago
Description

Rob Morgan has worked with Brad Pitt, Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain, and once had Mel Gibson describe him as "like a fucking wolf." But he and Steve mostly talk about Beijing.

Robert Morgan is a Welsh-Australian actor whose credits include The Proposition, Hacksaw Ridge, George & Tammy, The OA and Babylon. He lives in Los Angeles and holds UK, Australian and US citizenship, which he describes as practical.

  • How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular brought Rob and Steve together in Beijing — but the production collapsed due to Chinese chaos, sandstorms, falling spanners, visa runs with fake documents, and a dubbing session in Shanghai where someone had written "titty hat"
  • Why every role Rob gets seems to involve being in charge of people — sheriff, inspector, sergeant, colonel — and what Mel Gibson said about him that explains it
  • The OA — one of the strangest shows on television, cancelled before anyone knew what it was, and why he had no idea what was going on beyond his own character's storyline
  • Living alone in Glendale while his family stays in Australia — the reality of a late-career Hollywood push

Rob does not engage in social media, but you can see what he's up to here:
