23. The Thing No One Told You is Better Than Control (A Personal Lesson to Help You Achieve Food Freedom)

Season 1 Episode 23 Published 3 years, 4 months ago
Description

Food rules may provide an illusion of control and predictability but are often really the thing holding you back from food freedom.

Sometimes feeling trapped on your journey to freedom comes from holding on too tightly to the control that you believe you have. True freedom from your burdens is found in submitting your shortcomings and surrendering control to the Lord and His ways. Listen in as I share some of the ways that I’ve learned that freedom doesn’t necessarily go hand-in-hand with being in complete control.

In today’s episode, I’ll share with you why submitting to God’s authority is essential to making progress toward food freedom, fighting negative body image, and relinquishing the control that causes anxiety and disordered relationships with food.

A few things you’ll hear in this episode are:

📖 Encouragement from a personal story of freedom and Mark 11:24 in scripture

🤲🏽 What surrender truly means and how to apply it to your situation

🔐  Some root behaviors that may be giving you a false sense of control

🏃🏽‍♀️ How to take the first steps away from control and toward finding freedom in the Lord

❓ A key acronym and questions to help you recognize and overcome the fear of surrendering
