Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 

GOD WANTS US ALL TO WORK AND NOT BE IDLE BY GOD’S BLESSING WE CAN LIVE HERE ON EARTH  AND REJOICE IN THE FRUITS OF OUR LABOR.

Psalm 128:1-2

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. 2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. 

Proverbs 13:11

Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Proverbs 6:6-11

THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT COMES WITH A COMPOUND COMMANDMENT TO LABOR

Exodus 20:8-10

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates

Genesis 26:12-14

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. 13And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. 

WHILE THE BIBLE FORBIDS GLUTTONY, OVEREATING AND DEBAUCHERY, IT DOES NOT FORBID US FROM TEMPERATELY EATING AND REJOICING IN THE WORKS OUR OUR HANDS

Ecclesiastes 10:17

Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness! 

Deuteronomy 21:20-21

And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. 21And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
