From a Broken World to a New World: Delinquent Prophets and Preachers Foster the Spirit of Sodom(Part 2)
Description
PROPHETS AND PREACHERS ARE TO MAKE DISCIPLES FOR CHRIST NOT FOR THEMSELVES! THEY ARE TO PREACH “THUS SAYS THE LORD” “IT IS WRITTEN” NOT FOR THE “LIKES ” OF PEOPLE!
Acts 20:29-30
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
BE CAREFUL WHO YOU FOLLOW
1 Corinthians 11:1
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Matthew 15:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
2 Peter 2:1-3 ESV
“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.”
WE SHOULD NOT SELL THE PASTORAL BIRTHRIGHT FOR THE CRUMBS OF THIS WORLD? WE SHOULD LEARN FROM ESAU?
Hebrews 12:16-17 NKJV
“lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.”
Philippians 3:18-19
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Ezekiel 13:22-23
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
John 10:10-11
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
