ONE OF THE GREATEST DANGERS OF THE LAST DAYS IS THAT OF CHRISTIANS  WHO HOLD ON TO RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS NOT BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD. ALTHOUGH THESE PEOPLE HAVE THE BIBLE THEY SELECTIVELY OBEY ITS PRECEPTS OR THEY TRY TO IMPROVE WORD OF GOD.

Matthew 15:3-9

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Whatever is built upon the authority of man will be overthrown; but that which is founded upon the rock of God’s immutable word shall stand forever. – {Great Controversy p. 288.3}

Deuteronomy 12:32

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. 

Proverbs 30:5-6

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. 6Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. 

Revelation 22:18-19

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

THE BIBLE AND THE BIBLE ONLY SHOULD BE THE RULE OF ALL FAITH. THE BIBLE IS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED AS THE ONLY INFALLIBLE SOURCE OF AUTHORITY FOR FAITH AND PRACTICE IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.

God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represent, the voice of the majority—not one nor all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religious faith. Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord” in its support. – {Great Controversy p. 595.1}

Psalm 119:9-11

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalm 119:140 -141

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.
