Supernatural Season 3, Episode 11, Mystery Spot recap 😵‍💫 It's Supernatural's Groundhog Day episode: Sam wakes up to Heat of the Moment by Asia, it's Tuesday, and Dean dies. Again. And again. And AGAIN. Berly and LA relive it all on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. Fun fact: it originally aired on Valentine's Day, and the guest star was our fave convention guest pick in our Patreon Valentine episode this year.

The boys are investigating a missing man at the Broward County Mystery Spot in Florida, a tourist trap where the laws of physics supposedly don't apply. Then Dean gets shot, and Sam wakes up to the same song, the same diner, the same pig-in-a-poke special... and Dean dies again. Every morning resets, and Sam has to figure out who's behind it before he loses his brother for good. Hint: someone with a sweet tooth, a sick sense of humor, and a cute tushy.

Episode Highlights:

• Dean's creative deaths, Wile E. Coyote style (the electrocution is a favorite of ours, while Jensen has said that death by taco is his fave)
• LA's real-life hit-by-a-car story, which makes one death extra personal
• Sam ordering Dean's breakfast before Dean even opens his mouth
• Sam mouthing every line along with Dean, which is so funny and SO sad (Fun fact: Jared has said that he counts this among his least favorite episodes because he cried all week)
• Our 13th blood splooge of the series
• Richard Speight Jr. being gorgeous as always (didn't love the shirt, though)
• Sam's 90s-action-movie montage, complete with self-stitching and a hot nip shot
• A sweet Bobby moment that breaks our hearts

In the lore segment, we dig into the science of time loops, the grandfather paradox (what if your grandfather was a monster?), and the strange case of a 23-year-old British man who lived in constant déjà vu, which scientists believe may have been triggered by anxiety.
