Episode Details

Supernatural Season 3, Episode 10, Dream a Little Dream of Me recap 🌜 Bobby is trapped in a coma by a dream-walking killer, so Sam and Dean drink some very sketchy tea to go in after him, and Dean comes face to face with the one person he can't fight: himself, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

Bobby is found unconscious in a motel room after investigating a professor running sleep studies, and he won't wake up. The boys trace it to a dream walker using African dream root to invade people's dreams and attack them while they sleep. To save Bobby, they'll need some dream root of their own (courtesy of Bela, in a trench coat), a strand of Bobby's hair, and a LOT of nerve. Inside Bobby's dream, they learn something devastating about his past. Inside Dean's? Things get very personal.

Episode Highlights:

• Bobby trapped in a nightmare (leave Bobby ALONE)
• Dean sharing a beer with a stoner college student (bad idea)
• Bela (Lauren Cohan) showing up with the dream root, in a trench coat
• Sam and Dean's cute little hospital shot
• The dreamy transitions and camera work (kudos to DP Serge Ladouceur and director Steve Boyum)
• Bobby's heartbreaking past
• Dean's domestic dream picnic with Lisa (Cindy Sampson) from The Kids Are Alright
• Doors, closets, and hallways that go nowhere
• Dean vs. evil Dean, the scariest fight he's ever had

In the lore segment, we dig into dream walking: the supernatural ability to travel into other people's dreams, oneironautics (the art of exploring your dreams), lucid dreaming, and the real African dream root used to bring on vivid dreams. Plus, Oneiroi, the winged dream spirits of Greek myth, and Zeus sending a dream to Agamemnon in the Iliad.

"Bela? Crap. You're actually suggesting we ask her for a favor?" – Sam Winchester
"I'm feelin' dirty just thinkin' about it, but yeah." – Dean Winchester
