Episode Details

Supernatural Season 3, Episode 9, Malleus Maleficarum recap 🧙‍♀️ A coven of suburban witches is killing people in some VERY gross ways, Dean really hates witches, and Ruby finally reveals her past on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. Plus, we flip through the Supernatural Official Magazine!

First, a peek at the Supernatural Official Magazine (2007 to 2012), including an interview with Alona Tal and the top five motel rooms of shame. (Pictures on our socials!) Then it's on to the episode: a woman brushing her teeth spits out every last one of them and dies, and Sam finds a hex bag under the sink. The boys trace the black magic to a coven disguised as a suburban book club, but someone in the group is playing with more than witchcraft.

Episode Highlights:

• Kim Manners on the real villain of filming in Vancouver: the weather
• Why do witches ALWAYS have to kill the rabbits?
• Sam tearing apart the motel room, including the mattress, to find a hex bag
• Dean and Ruby trading insults within a minute of meeting
• Agents Bachman and Turner (Berly caught a reference!)
• Ruby saving the day, and warning the boys about a demon in town
• A demon stopping a bullet from the Colt midair (holy shit)
• The book club's big reveal (we did NOT see it coming)
• Ruby's backstory, finally

In the lore segment, we dig into the real Malleus Maleficarum, the 1486 witch-hunting manual by Heinrich Kramer that fueled centuries of witch trials, and how its view of witches shaped the ones we see on Supernatural.

"Nice Dick work, Magnum." – Tammi (Marisa Ramirez)
