Episode Details

Welcome to 1976! In their first show of the new year, NBC's Saturday Night welcomes a man who was on top of the world in the mid 70's -  Elliott Gould! Gould pulls out all the stops for his first time hosting, proving not only his comedic chops, but also his skills as a song-and-dance man!
This episode wins an Emmy for writing and in watching this episode it is apparent why! There is an all-time CLASSIC sketch with Godfather Therapy, an amazing in-studio commercial for "New Shimmer", a great BEEs sketch and the first on-screen appearance of Franken & Davis! Also, there's more from the Muppets, Anne Murray, and Albert Brooks' final "short" film.
