Meet Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and compassionate therapist in private practice. With a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work from Florida State University, Ashlyn has worked in a variety of settings before heading into private practice including management and supervision of new therapists where Ashlyn learned her love of teaching, supporting, and mentorship.

As a trained professional in pre-surgical mental health clearance, she offers comprehensive counseling tailored to the unique emotional and psychological aspects of the bariatric journey. Driven by a passion to teach and support other therapists and a commitment to filling a gap in training, Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes, LCSW, took the initiative to create her own specialized program to train mental health providers to conduct pre-surgical mental health clearances. 

With almost a decade of practical experience, she recognized the need for comprehensive training in a specific area and decided to forge her own path. This self-created program equips practitioners with the necessary tools and expertise to excel in their work, ensuring the highest quality of care for those they serve.Driven by the need for a better work-life balance after experiencing the burnout of the pandemic, Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes, LCSW, underwent a transformative journey. 

Recognizing the importance of self-care and rejuvenation, she discovered a newfound love for traveling. Determined to create a more fulfilling lifestyle, Ashlyn made strategic changes to her business model, specifically focusing on pre-surgical evaluations.
