Supernatural Season 3, Episode 6, Red Sky at Morning recap ⚓ A ghost ship appears right before people drown on dry land, and Bela (Lauren Cohan) is back to con, steal, and maybe help the Winchesters, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. (The title comes from the old sailors' rhyme: red sky at morning, sailors take warning.)

On a seaside boardwalk, a man spots a ghostly old pirate ship in a storm... and then drowns in the middle of town with no water in sight. The boys investigate, but Bela beat them to it: she's posing as a psychic for a wealthy older woman named Gertrude (Ellen Geer). Turns out the ghost ship only appears to certain people, and to stop the Espíritu Santo, the boys need a hand of glory from the local maritime museum. Cue a fancy gala, two Winchesters in tuxedos, and Gertrude getting VERY handsy with Sam.

Episode Highlights:

• In the spell, Sam saying "Cassiel" sounds suspiciously familiar (it means shield of God)

• More layers to Bella than we expected

In the lore segment, we dig into real-life ghost ships: the Joyita, found adrift in the South Pacific with no one aboard; the Mary Celeste, one of the most famous mysteries of the sea; the Jian Seng, a mystery ship found off Australia that no one ever claimed; the Nina, a yacht that vanished near New Zealand after a final cryptic message; and the Jenny, which may be the most disturbing ghost ship of all.
