Description

26th April: Crypto & Coffee at 8
💥‘Crypto is dead in America’ 🚨 Ripple may leave the USA? 🔥 Google Cloud to help web3 developers 👀 Visa hiring crypto developers.

🚨 Multibillionaire, early adopter & probably the largest Hodler of Bitcoin Chamath Palihapitiya, CEO of Social Capital who previously claimed Bitcoin has replaced gold and would eventually get to $200,000, now says “crypto is dead in America.” For more information via ALL IN Podcast check it out here via YouTube here https://lnkd.in/dzHJfqhc his comments are around the 1hr 21:40 mark

⚡ Palihapitiya blamed crypto’s demise largely on regulators, who have gotten much more aggressive in their pursuit of bad actors in the industry. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler has said crypto trading platforms should abide by strict U.S. securities laws.

💥 Ripple may leave the USA.
⚡ DailyCoin reported that In July 2022, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse warned that the company would consider moving to another country if it loses the case in the United States, citing the need to build its business in a more regulatory jurisdiction amenable to its operations. The article here mentions of the 66 open positions at Ripple, 46 are currently offered outside the United States, with only six US-based jobs being internships.

❗ It’s not regulations BUT lack of clarity by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission seems to be the problem. ❗

🔥 Google + Web3.0

The “Google for Startups Cloud Program” initiative, which provides support for startups and emerging projects, will now be offered to builders in the Web3 industry to scale their projects faster and more securely, according to a press release on Tuesday.
