129 – Ever Ruin a Good Thing? Why We Self-Sabotage and What to Do About It

Episode 129 Published 3 years ago
Description

Ever know what you need to do and just can’t seem to get your body on board?  Or ever realize things are going well and feel this deep need to cause some dysfunction?!

We all want to see growth in our lives.  Yet despite our best intentions, sometimes we just can’t follow through. It can feel like an out-of-body experience when our mind wants something, but our body seems to do the opposite.  So, what gives?

When trauma remains unresolved, it often shows up as self-sabotaging patterns.

In today’s episode, we discuss why we tend to self-sabotage.  We explore how deeply held patterns from our childhood thwart our efforts and hold us back, and how our nervous system’s preference for the familiar can sabotage growth, change, progress, health, and responsible adulting.

I also coach on how procrastination can be rooted in perfectionism and what to do when we become aware of our self-sabotaging patterns.
