Back to EpisodesWOT 143: Tim King Part 2. Techniques for Tying and Fishing Soft Hackles
Description
In this episode we WadeOutThere for Part 2 of our conversation with Tim King from Logan Utah. Tim learned to fly fish on the same pond he learned to play ice hockey on as a boy in Pennsylvania. He soon began fly tying as well, inspired by the many outdoor magazines of the time.
After college in Pennsylvania, Tim moved to Utah to finish his degree in 1977. He was 21 years old. He continued learning and fishing in his new trout waters while honing his fly tying skills in an auto repair shop that also sold fly tying and rod building materials. Tim tied professionally for years while working and fishing in Utah and Idaho.
In Part 2 of our conversation, we discuss techniques for tying and fishing soft hackles.
