THE RAKE | SCARY FOLKLORE

As the sun slowly dips below the horizon and the trees band together in clusters, as if bracing themselves for the impending darkness, you move briskly and silently across the ground littered with fallen leaves and twigs. You take note of every sound, every rustle and snap of branches caused by your own footsteps. You pick up your pace, aware that something other than the night is drawing near. The sound grows louder as your steps become quicker and your heart beats ever faster. You stop suddenly and turn around to face whatever is stalking you. You catch a glimpse in the dimming light of the crawling figure that is hunting you.  It moves like an animal yet appears to be disturbingly human like. You only see it for a moment, but it is enough to make you bolt in terror. One glimpse is all it takes.
