Episode 61
Acts of violence against teachers in U.S. classrooms has become an all-too-common problem in recent years, with the problem only intensifying since the return to in person classes and the end of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. This alarming trend can be seen in the results of the School Pulse Panel survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences, which found a notable increase in verbal and physical violence aimed at teachers and school staff. In this episode I discuss the issue of acts of violence against teachers, the teacher shortage and offer recommendations to address both issues.
