Ep 16 | Negotiating for the Long-Term

Episode 16 Published 3 years, 5 months ago
Description

What happens when the vision is clear, but circumstances begin testing your commitment to it?

In Genesis 13–14, Abram faces challenges from within and without. First, an issue of asset management with his nephew Lot raises important questions about stewardship. Then Lot finds himself caught in the middle of a geopolitical crisis that requires Abram to respond.

Abram also encounters two very different kings: the king of Salem, who blesses him, and the king of Sodom, who attempts to negotiate with him. That negotiation presents Abram with a choice familiar to us today: pursue an immediate win or keep the longer-term vision God has given him in view.

In this episode of the Wisdom Calling Podcast, we draw practical wisdom from Abram’s decisions for stewardship, negotiation, and decision-making in our own lives and work. How do we handle what has been entrusted to us—and how do we keep short-term opportunities from distracting us from what matters most?
