I hear the term “imposter syndrome” AT LEAST once a week in the Testing Psychologist Community, in my consulting meetings, or during my own accountability group discussions. It’s everywhere, and it affects so many of us. My guest today, Dr. Lisa Orbé-Austin, is an expert on imposter syndrome. She has a powerful personal story of working through imposter syndrome and has worked with hundreds of high-achieving individuals to overcome their own imposter syndrome. Our conversation was lively, dynamic, and incredibly informative! Here are a few topics that we touch on:

  • Definitions and manifestations of imposter syndrome
  • Relationships between imposter syndrome and mental health constructs like self-esteem, self-worth, and self-sabotage
  • Impact of imposter syndrome on marginalized folks
  • Ways to identify and overcome imposter syndrome
