In May 2022, police in Minnesota pulled over a vehicle with a blown tyre and shattered back windshield. Officers could not have imagined that a routine traffic stop would turn into a  investigation, following the discovery of a boy’s mutilated remains in the boot of the car. The manner of his death was horrific, and the identity of his killer, shocking. This is what happens when a vulnerable child, failed by the courts and welfare services designed to protect him, is placed into the clutches of a monster. This is the murder of Eli Hart.
