On one occasion the disciples were enquiring about the "rewards" they might be able to expect as a result of following Jesus. The answer given by our Lord seems to be in conflict with some of His teaching on humility and servanthood. He told them: "Many who are now first will be last and many who are now last will be first..." How are we to interpret these words in the modern context?
