Episode Details

Supernatural Season 2, Episode 22, All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2 recap 😈 It's the season two finale: Dean is shattered, a Devil's Gate is about to open in Wyoming, and the Yellow-Eyed Demon's endgame is finally here, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast. Bring tissues. Bring ALL the tissues.

Picking up right where Part 1 left off, Dean is grieving at Bobby's, sitting with his little brother and remembering their childhood. Meanwhile, the last special child standing has a job to do for Azazel, and Bobby and Ellen uncover something incredible: Samuel Colt built a giant devil's trap out of iron railroad tracks across Wyoming to guard a gate to hell. Dean will do anything to save his family. And we mean ANYTHING.

Episode Highlights:

• Dean's speech to Sam about his job to keep him safe (we started crying immediately)
• Samuel Colt's iron railroad devil's trap (who knew the guy was an engineer?)
• Ellen's back (Samantha Ferris)! Bobby's here (Jim Beaver)! The whole team... except for Ash (Chad Lindberg). RIP to MIT's favorite mullet.
• Azazel threatening some very creepy things (chewy intestines?! Gross.)
• Sam's nostrils in action (the flare is back)
• A familiar face showing up when the boys need it most
• The final scene mirroring the pilot, as a love letter to season one

In the lore segment, we take a tour of real-world gates to hell: Fengdu Ghost City in China, the ever-burning Door to Hell in Turkmenistan, Waipi'o Valley in Hawaii, Japan's sulfur-spewing Mount Osore, Hell's Gate National Park in Kenya, and closer to the Winchesters' home, Kansas' infamous Stull Cemetery, in the same county as Lawrence.
