Description
EPISODE 139: “Meandering Toward Mediocrity” This week Host Dave Bledsoe realizes he was born mediocre, then achieved mediocrity and had more mediocrity thrust upon him. On the show this week we ask if a little mediocrity is such a bad thing. (It’s certainly common enough.) Along the way we learn that Dave is not a disappointment to his parents. (They knew where he would wind up all along.) We assess the potential of most Americans and find the overwhelming majority of them not special. We spend a lot of time explaining why America the country is only So-So as far as nations go, and why we can never hold a candle to our colonial mother country. (I mean we can’t even occupy India!) We also clearly lay out how, culturally speaking, we will always operate at a deficit. (We are looking at Kardashians!) In our Wayback this week, we explain why it is a VERY bad idea for nation-states to believe they are better than other nations--and you KNOW who we are talking about! Our Sponsor this week is Average Joes, there are better companies out there, but there are worse. We open the show with just an average working man and close with Ordinary Boys performed by YouTuber Pete Burnett (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW0dLR6je00 ) Show Music: https://www.jamendo.com/track/421668/prelude-to-common-sense The Show on Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheHell_Podcast The Show on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/whatthehellpodcast/ The Show on Soundcloud www.whatthehellpodcast.com Give us your money on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/Whatthehellpodcast The Show Line: 347 687 9601 Citations Needed: Some Average Dude: https://markmanson.net/being-average Where the Problem Started: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unification_of_Germany
