A new era has arrived for Texas Football. Head coach Steve Sarkisian was officially welcomed to Austin Tuesday morning to start the next chapter of his coaching career with the Longhorns. Sarkisian held his introductory press conference where he discussed everything from his offensive philosophies, which helped lead Alabama to a National Championship win over Ohio State, to his personal life and what he expects to bring to Texas football.
On this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes weigh in on Sarkisian's first official meeting as head coach of the Longhorns and give their key takeaways from Tuesday's press conference. The hosts discuss how important it was for Sarkisian to emphasize his authenticity as a head coach and recognize the value in being genuine when taking over a role like he has at Texas. The Flagship also discusses the UT men's basketball team after the perfect start to Big 12 play in Year 6 of the Shaka Smart era, and how impressive it has been to see the Longhorns camaraderie this season.
The Flagship then brings on the weekly 'Love it or Leave it' segment, with this weeks topics ranging from which of Sarkisian's mentors is most important to emulate, Texas offensive players excitement in seeing the Alabama national title win and much more.
Catch all of that and more on this week's episode of The Flagship Podcast.
