Rod Argent - The Zombies: "She's Not There", "Tell Her No", "Time Of The Season". Argent: "Hold Your Head Up"

Episode 167

Rod Argent was the keyboard player in The Zombies, one of the greatest bands of the British Invasion era of the 1960s. They had massive hits with “She’s Not There” and “Tell Her No” and later with “Time Of The Season” - all written by Rod - and they had a sound and a sophistication that was unlike any other band at that time. They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2019. Rod went on to form Argent and he had another massive hit with “Hold Your Head Up”. He later played with The Who, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ringo and he also recorded a classical music album.

My featured song is “Waiting For Me” from my new album, Bobby M and the Paisley Parade. Spotify link.
